When high-speed is required the pure contactless memory range from Gemalto is an ideal solution. Mifare is an electronic contactless standard adapted to ticketing and access control. Gemalto Mifare is available in 1K and 4Kto target frequent travellers who have subscribed to a contract with the transport operator.

Main features:

Convenience: cards can be used with the vast majority of contactless cards readers.
Speed: the transactions are completed in less than 100 ms and up to 10 cm from the reader.
Security: the cards perform encrypted off line transactions and security between different applications is guaranteed. There are additional security features which manage the mutual authentication between the card and the reader. More than one card can be processed by the reader at a time without data corruption and fraud.

DESFire

Transport operators are now facing increasingly sophisticated demands. Their infrastructures need to fit the requirements of multi application usage in a secure environment. The microprocessor-based smart card is an ideal solution for increasing data storage, enhancing security and flexibility. These cards can handle far more complex applications than traditional memory cards. The Gemalto DESFire is a new Mifare generation product with improved security and a maximum interoperability.

Security: Thanks to its embedded 3-DES encryption engine and authentication security features, Gemalto DESFire is the solution for privacy protection while ensuring convenience of fast contactless transactions.
Interoperability: the Gemalto DESFire solution offers maximum interoperability ensured by compliance with four levels ISO 14443-A standard.
High throughput: Gemalto DESFire opens the door to communication speed up to 424Kbits/sec.

Calypso

Calypso is an electronic ticketing standard initiated by and for transport operators. Gemalto offers its own Calypso mask but also the CD21 mask (including the CD97 e-purse).

Microprocessor security: Interruption-proof command stream management or “session/approval” mode guarantees effective protection against fraud, ensures transaction reliability and gives both you and your customer complete peace of mind.
Dual interface: Contact & contactless. Your customers make a contactless transaction with the simplest of gestures, making their traveling experience more pleasant and giving your infrastructure to fit the through put. For less speed-sensitive operations such as card recharging, Calypso cards can be used in contact mode, enabling implementation of sophisticated cryptography measures.
