INPAS PULSAR
Advantages of this solution The uses of the new PULSAR appliance make it possible for any trade point to accept all types of payment cards on cash machines. For this purpose the SC 5000 PIN pad is connected to the machine and the software part of the PULSAR appliance that operates as an authorization server and works with all known processing centers is installed. It is unnecessary to buy expensive terminals and there is no need to request authorization of one or another bank. So the use of INPAS PULSAR creates the opportunity to reduce expenses on organizing bank cards receipt at a large trade point in half compared to the traditional installation of POS terminals. Description and operation logic Financial operation is initialized by the cash machine and a request to perform this operation is sent to the PULSAR Server by means of a specialized SA protocol.
The PULSAR Server formulates and sends a message to the SC 5000 PIN-pad. The resources of the cash machine are used as a transport medium (management channel is organized). The SC_PULSAR_EMV software installed on the SC 5000 PIN-pad performs the algorithm of operations with an EMV card. After the data for the authorization are prepared they are transferred to the PULSAR Server for further transmission to the host. The PULSAR Server converts the data into format required by the host and initiates the data exchange procedure with the host. The results of data exchange are converted into the SA protocol and transferred to the SC 5000 PIN-pad. After analyzing the data exchange results the PIN-pad returns them to the PULSAR Server. After the PULSAR Server has received the reply from the PIN-pad it sends the result of operation to the cash machine for printing. It is obvious from this scheme that the SC 5000 PIN-pad can be connected to the cash machine COM port and the support of additional cash exchange protocol is required. At present main cash machine suppliers support the INPAS PULSAR System. The SC 5000 PIN-pad can be connected directly to the PULSAR Server. Such solution is possible if there is no free COM port on the cash machine. The PULSAR Server solution is developed for acquirer banks that actively develop their acquiring program and makes the bank's acquiring business really profitable providing maximum functionality with minimal solution cost.
