According to the results of the tender, Tesco - one of the largest British retailer - has signed a contract with INPAS International to launch contactless pilot project in Hungary. Sixty POS-terminal devices will be installed and connected in Tesco supermarkets within one month. It will help to increase the condition of payment process.
After successful implementation of the pilot project it plans to install contactless solutions in Tesco network in Hungary and other European countries. Historically Tesco has large supermarkets and hypermarkets, but not so long ago, the leadership has decided to expand the format and open the nearby stores and a mini market on the Hungarian market. It is supermarkets are planned to be equipped with contactless solutions. The second stage of the project includes the supply of POS-terminal equipment to all major supermarkets of the country. As many as 2,500 VeriFone contactless devices will be provided by INPAS International until the end of the year.Tesco is the leader of the British food retailer owns the largest branch network of hypermarkets in Hungary, Poland, the CzechRepublic and Slovakia, it has invested over 1.5 billion pounds ($ 2.7 billion) to develop four central markets of Europe.
